Starcraft II is an online multiplayer game for those looking
for a challenge. New players are often
greeted with a steep learning curve when first starting out, and falling behind
on changes in the way the game is played can be devastating to your rank. That is what happened to me. I was at the midnight release of Wings of
Liberty, and I began climbing the ladder shortly after getting it. After a while I had to take break from gaming
in order to focus on school and work, but when Heart of The Swarm came out I
was ready to jump back in where I left off.
To my surprise I found that I was back at square one. I was out of practice and I was being
consistently destroyed by my opponents.
In the time that I had not played, everyone had learned tons of strategies
and build orders. I might as well have
been a complete newbie. I desperately
searched online for guides to help me catch up to the other players and make
Starcraft II the awesome fun sci fi strategy that it once was. What I discovered was Shokz Guide for
Starcraft II Mastery. At first I was sceptical but after seeing the amount of quality content in this guide, and
the results it helped me achieve, I was sold.
Who Is Shokz?
One of the first questions I had upon discovering this guide
was: Who is Shokz? Obviously I don't
want to be spending my hard earned cash on a guide written by some loser who
knows nothing about Starcraft. It turns
out Shokz is a Grandmaster player and an expert in all races. He wins the majority of his games and has
completed both Wings of Liberty and Heart of Swarm Campaigns on Brutal
difficulty. After seeing his profile on Battle
Net I was convinced that the information in this guide is coming from a
qualified source and that the information is top notch.
Features
Shokz Guide for Starcraft II Mastery is jam packed with
detailed and easy to use information.
The guide is complete with member videos and screen shots which are
massively helpful in making the instructions as clear as possible. Some of the features of Shokz Guide are:
Wings of Liberty & Heart of the Swarm Campaign Guides -
These are an in depth walkthrough of the single player campaigns for both Wings
of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm.
Everything is laid out step by step and is very easy to follow. Guides for all difficulties from easy to
brutal are included, as well as how to complete all the achievements. One minus is that not every achievement is
explained in full detail, leaving some guess work up to you.
Race Guides - The race guides include build orders, hot
keys, and unit descriptions for all three races: Terran, Protoss, and
Zerg. I am a Protoss player, so I have
more experience using the Protoss guide; however, all the guides are well
explained and easy to follow. I
especially enjoy the Protoss Void Ray rush guide. It's an awesome strategy that is easy and fun
to use.
Multiplayer Guides - Starcraft II single player is totally
different than multiplayer. That's why I
was pleased to find out that Shokz Guide includes guides for 2v2, 3v3, and
4v4. These guides include tips on how to
communicate with your team-mates as well as group strategies. Overall, I think this section of the guide
has some really useful tips. It
definitely helped me learn how to be more strategic in multiplayer games.
General Guide - The general guide is helpful for all
races. I thought that this was a good
addition to guide as it includes tips for to help you with hot keys, scouting
and how to boost your APM. For those of
you who don't know, APM stands for Actions Per Minute and generally speaking
the higher APM you have the better.
There is also a unit guide that goes over all of the units strengths and
weaknesses, as well as the best when and how to use them.
Map Editor Guide - I thought that this was an interesting
and fun addition. I had never made my
own maps before. It seemed confusing and
like a waste of time. But Shokz Guide
clearly explains how to build awesome and professional custom maps. These can be extremely fun to play and share
with your friends.
Shokz Video Guide - Shokz video guide is one of the most
valuable things Shokz have to offer. It
is a daily HD video lesson on just about anything to do with Starcraft II. Included are replays of games played by
Shokz, whiles he narrates everything that he is thinking as he plays. You can even download the replay for the game
in order to see in more detail exactly what to do. You also have access to the Shokz community
forum, where you can discuss the videos and get help for your specific
situation. My only gripe with this guide
is that it’s a separate cost from the regular guide. However that still doesn't take away from its
value in any way.
Summary
With all the Starcraft II guides floating around the
Internet, it can be difficult to pick out the good from the bad. However, in my opinion, Shokz Guide for
Starcraft II Mastery rises above the rest. My only critisms are that this guide
is definitely geared towards beginners and it is a little bit pricy. However if you’re at an advance level you
probably don't need a guide anyway, and for the quality you will receive, it is
definitely worth the investment. I think
that getting Shokz Guide was turning point in my game. Obviously it's no magic pill; you'll have to
put in the time to practice. But since
getting Shokz Guide I have slowly started to climb the ladder again. What can Shokz Guide do for you? Well I guess
that depends on how you use it. If
you're a beginner and you want a great guide to help you learn the mechanics of
the game, I strongly recommend Shokz Guide for Starcraft II Mastery. Oh and by the way, there's a 60 day money
back guarantee. So if it's not for you
just return it. So what are waiting for? If you want to dominate the game of Starcraft II
